Characteristics of Centipedes
- Centipedes are segmented, worm-like arthropods with two appendages (legs) per segment.
- The appendages on the first segment can deliver a poisonous sting which can be very painful. Some centipedes' bites or stings are more toxic than others.
- Centipedes can survive in a variety of habitats and locations throughout the world.
- All centipedes are carnivorous.
- Centipedes are generally found near areas with moisture.
